EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Feb. 12, 2019) – As an outgrowth
of its recently updated strategic plan and commitment to
outstanding quality in research, teaching, and community
engagement. North Carolina Agricultural and Technical
State University
has created three new Centers of
Excellence in cybersecurity, advanced
manufacturing, and entrepreneurship and
innovation. Interim directors have been named and
are set to begin developing strategic plans and building
the initial infrastructure for each center.
The centers will provide exemplary leadership in
research, academic programming and community outreach,
consistent with the university’s land-grant mission. The
interim directors will establish interdisciplinary
faculty advisory committees and external
advisory committees, initiate
discussions with business and industry leaders and
plans for sustaining the centers for the long term.

recommendation: a Knowledge Campus,
" more commonly known as a research
park. this campus would house N.C.
A&T's and UNC-G's flagship research

research could be spun off into
startup businesses and lure exiting
ones from other parts of the nation.
Young people would flock to
Greensboro for a shot at
high-paying, high-tech jobs with a

Minutes indicate Committee Chair Paul Jones
gave the report from the University Affairs
Committee. Committee Chair Jones presented
the recommendation to approve the university
Revocation Policy which was seconded by
Trustee Timothy King and unanimously
approved by roll call vote. State
law require full and accurate minutes.

A&T Policy to Establish (A) University Center or
Institute
The process to establish a University center or
institute follows a two step procedure:
involving first a Request for Authorization to Plan and
then a Request to Establish each submitted to the
Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development
(VC-DORED). On the Provost's
approval, the Request to Establish a Center or Institute
will be submitted to the Chancellor and then the Board
of Trustees for final approval. The

will notify the center director and the UNC Office of
Research and Sponsored Programs of the Establishment of
the new center or institute. |

University will host a kickoff and ribbon cutting Thursday,
Oct. 17, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. - noon at the Student Center. |

Partners to Launch Cybersecurity Hub for Women

EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 21, 2021) — The
Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Outreach and
Education (CREO) at North Carolina Agricultural and
Technical State University will virtually launch its
Cybersecurity Forensic Hub for Women on Monday, April 26 at
4 p.m.
This launch comes on the heels of INTERPOL’s commitment to
join forces with the Coalition
Against Stalkerware in addressing the increase in
domestic violence and technology abuse cases during the
COVID-19 lockdown.
CREO will partner with Guilford County Schools, North
Carolina Central University and the International Council of
E-Commerce Consultants, will establish a safe space for
young women and girls experiencing various forms of
cyberbullying by detecting and identifying malicious
software, also known as stalkerware, which has been
illegally downloaded on their devices. This software can be
used to track a user’s movements and access private
information on the device and accounts link |
